This book is a collection of all the saints that the author could find that are or were incorruptibles. (Saints whose's bodies did not decay or did not decay at a normal rate given the amount of exposure to the elements and preservation used.) They are arranged by when they lived, and include any information that makes their lack of decay even more amazing. (A number of the bodies were covered with quicklime to stop the smell of decay or to break the body down to bones faster for relics. Other were left out for days without any embalming or were buried with out a casket or in a casket the rotted due to water damage.) There is also a quick bio of each saint's life along with what happened to the body after death.

Magdalena as a midwife was accused of killing the baker's servant, by the baker who was hiding that he gave his servant too much ergot in attempt to cause her to miscarry his child. As he got the ergot from the town's doctor with bad instructions on how to take it, this causes a big fight between Simon and his father. Jakob rushes to the city his sister lives in because he received a letter that she was sick, only to be stopped by guards and framed for a double murder by someone from his past, back when he was in the war.
