This book by a FBI profiler talks about how they interview known killers, the physiology used when profiling a killer as well as interviews done with famous serial killers.

It book is 22 short stories all in some way about loss.  Within that theme there are a wide range and styles of stories.

Axes of Evil: The True Story of the Ax-Man Murders by: Todd C. Elliott 
Non-Fiction: History, True Crime, 157 pages
This is the story of America's largest unsolved serial killings, which took place around 1912 in Louisiana and Texas. There may have been multiple killers and at least 2 people were found guilty of some of the murders, but they couldn't have done them all. (As in they were in jail or dead when some happened.)  These killings were all done to whole families of poor African American families, but there is some question on if they are connected to the more well known Villisca Axe Murders, which this book gets into.
