The Unquiet Grave By: Sharyn McCrumb
Fiction: Historic, Mystery, 368 pages
This book is a fictionalized account of the story of the Greenbrier Ghost, a murder case that involved the ghost of the murder victim themselves. It tells the story both at the time it happened and many years later, as told by a lawyer on the case. This is especially interesting because the events happened in West Virginia, about a generation after the Civil War, and the lawyer happened to be an African American who was helping defend a white man. Also at the end there is information on the research that the author did in writing the book.
