Bug Smoot has had a hard life, her single mother died in a house fire when she was young. By the time she was an adult both her aunt and grandfather that raised her after her mother's death also died. The only thing of any value that she owns is the 1958 Cadillac Biarritz that her grandfather had left her, and some one egged it. She goes to get it cleaned at the car wash, a cute guy from high school works at, and finds it's not eggs. It is a goo that is binding the demon Beals, i.e. Beelzebub to her car until he repossess it as well as her grandfather's soul, or Bug's if she can't find her grandfather's. From there she gets sucked into a world that she never knew existed and has to fight for her soul as well as the world.
