An Actual Report of a Book – The Stupidest Angel

The Stupidest Angel BY: Christopher Moore
Fiction, humor 275 pages 10th grade reading level, copyright 2004

1st this book is currently $2 at our Barnes & Noble for a hardcover edition, so we couldn’t help but get it. Also as the book itself warns it has “cuss words as well as tasteful depictions of cannibalism and people in their forties having sex.” But, as it is tasteful we didn’t label it as adult content as you can get away with a lot normally gross or smutty junk if it’s tastefully done.
That being said the story is of a small California town around Christmas and a Christmas miracle being preformed by an angel who we can only describe as the Terminator, but mentally challenged. He is only one of the many characters that make this book so funny. Others include: Roberto, a Ray-Ban wearing fruit bat; Kendra, Warrior Babe of the Outland; a dead Santa Claus; a group of lab rats with electrodes on their testes; the Narrator, a voice in another character’s head; a pot smoking cop; and a cemetery full of Ikea lovers. We would explain more of the story, but from the list of some of its characters you can probably guess that it is just one of those books you have to read, because it needs more then a few paragraphs to explain it.
