Broken Lands:

Broken Lands By: Jonathan Maberry
Fiction: YA, Sci-fi, 533 pages

This book is about a world where most people have died from a parasite that causes zombies.  It takes place years after the first night of the outbreak and most of the main characters are teens who were too young to really remember what the world was like before zombies.  There are 3 groups that the story is centered around.  The main group is in a town called New Alamo (near the former Mexican border) and is about 15 year old Gutsy Gomez and her 2 best friends right after her mother died and came back as a zombie.  The next group is Benny, also a teen, and his group of friends that live in Reclamation (in California.)  The last group is a lone man who lives in woods away from what little civilization is left.

The Ludwig Conspiracy:

The Ludwig Conspiracy by Oliver Potzsch
Fiction: Mystery, History, E-book

This book is about Ludwig II of Bavaria.  He was known for making beautiful castles, being deposed by being declared insane and then dying shortly afterwards under mysterious circumstances.  He is a figure of interest and surrounded by mystery even today.  This story is a fictionalized account of his last days as told by an journal/dairy from a made up character and with a modern story of the people with the journal solving the mysteries in it and being hunted down by people who want to: kill them, silence them, keep the journal secret and/or get the journal for themselves.
At the end there is more information on what was made up for this book and what things are known or believed by people about the real historic event.
